Fourth and Fifth graders are finishing their Hip Hop Basics units and producing some really quality raps for their final projects! This small group project-based learning assignment was called the Hip Hop Hamburger and required students to take on real-life roles such as Producer, Hook/Verse Writer, Project Manager, MC/Rapper, and DJ. Each group wrote their raps together and decided whether to add a beat using technology, drumset or beatboxing. I'm very proud of the work they accomplished! I'm still working on editing and uploading the best videos to my YouTube Channel. Check out K.T.'s performance below!
It's been an exciting fall here in the Monaco Music room! Fourth and fifth graders have been learning all about the basics of Hip Hop/Rap and are now working hard in small groups to collaborate on writing and performing their own rap songs! Check out some of the terrific group work videos below and stay tuned for the final performance videos which I will post here.
Third graders have been working hard reading music in 3/4 meter and learning the ukulele. All third grade classes reached the end of their reward board and got to have a donut treat in music class! I'm super proud of their hard work and engagement!
